The table below summarizes the major direct costs associated with competitive soccer. Bags, warm-ups,
a ball for practice, travel to practice and lunches/snacks on trips to away games are not included. Typically,
a team will have about 2 home weekends, 5 travel weekends, and 2 tournament weekends (including State)
see Schedules. The real cost depends on how efficiently you budget, especially carpooling. We suggest that
a couple of parents drive vans or Suburbans-and that all players and parents consider carpooling.
Actual locations of away games vary between teams and years and are not know until the schedule is
released after the state schedulling meeting (late March). Tournament schedules must be decided on
before the season starts, so the team needs to meet and discuss needs and desires. State tournament
costs assume two nights. If AA team continues on to the third day, costs will be higher.
