Minutes- Bozeman Blitzz FC Board Minutes – March 2, 2005

 

Present: Bill Locke, Dick Prugh, Jen Gummer, Kerry Hatcher, Russ Walker, Mary Anne McGuire, Sue Manfredi, Bill Robinson, Dawn Sturman, Tracy Konitshek

 

I. Meeting was called to order at 7:07 pm

 

II. Mary Anne McGuire motioned to approve the December minutes

Russ Walker seconded the motion

The motion was approved unanimously

 

Mary Anne McGuire motioned to approve the February minutes

Bill Locke seconded the motion

The motion was approved unanimously

 

III. Micro Report: Sue Manfredi

  • Applications went out à due by 3/11
  • Suzanne committed to work with all aspects of coaching
  • Salary à $1500
  • Dick Prugh asked who will organize the teams

                    -Sue M. stated that we need coaches before we can organize the teams

  • The program will start on 5/11 (when fields are available)
  • Program will be advertised in the paper this week
  • Every player will receive a medal at the end of the season
  • Sue M. instituted a late fee

 

IV. Administrator/Registrar/President’s Report

·        U15 girls now have 17 players

·        One U11 girl quit, but was replaced by 2 more

·        U17 down another player

·        The Avalanche is down to one team

 

·        We were the only soccer organization represented at the Parks meeting

·        We are permitted to use 1 field per day (at Bronken)

 

V. Head Coach Report: No Report

 

VI. Committee Reports

 

A. Budget Development/ Treasurer Report: Kerry Hatcher

  • Corporate Sponsorships

-Kerry will be working on a general letter to send to businesses

-There will be a $500 minimum contribution

-We need to ask businesses for a specific amount

 

 

B. Facilities & Equipment: Russ Walker

  • We are approved to start practices at Babcock
  • Russ would like each team to report to him the number of times they use the field
  • The Simkins will get goals out there in the next week

 

Sue Manfredi motioned to buy 1 set of aluminum goals

Mary Anne McGuire seconded the motion

The motion was approved unanimously

 

C. Head Coach Supervision & Development: Bill Robinson

  • Sue M. had a party for coaches
  • Bill R. would like more social meetings for coaches
  • Chris AgnelloBlitzz name is here to stay
  • Teams were offered the option to put new embroidered logo on uniforms ($12 per uniform)

 

D. Referee Liasion

  • The last full cert/re-cert will be 3/5-3/6
  • 25 people registered
  • Zero tolerance will be held for U11/U12 and any new players/parents

 

E. Team Manager Corrdination: no report

 

F. Fundraising

  • Kerry Hatcher would like permission to purchase shelving, etc.
  • A refrigerator and a freezer have been donated
  • We need to purchase a generator

-an email will be sent to managers to see if we can borrow one

  • Bill Locke asked if the health department need to look at the new building

-Kerry will call the Health Department

  • Russ asked if we will have signs for concessions?

-We will have Mark put it on the map

 

G. Risk Management: no report

H. Policy: no report

 

VII. New Business

1.      Fall Program

-There will be no other Fall program (other than GVYSA) unless we put it on

-Can we still get the use of the schools for free, or will we be disqualified because of Tim and our other professional members?

-the outer-valley should have its own Club

-Fields? Softball Complex, etc.

-insurance costs are covered

-Russ W. is concerned about the workload

-Jen Gummer suggested a separate Board for Micro

-Sue M. stated that if we take it on, it should be micro-based

-Bill L. stated that we need to develop the coachesà they need to be more knowledgeable

-We need to talk to the city about using the Softball Complex

-Referees, coaches, etc. need to be voluntary

 

Bill Robinson motioned to proceed with planning a fall rec program if AYSO falls through

Sue Manfredi seconded the motion

The motion was approved unanimously

 

-Bill Robinson will coordinate the Middle School fall program again

 

VIII. Unfinished Business: no report

 

IX. Good of the Game

  • Sue Manfredi talked to the Lady Grizzlies coaching staff about summer camps- they are unable to do it.
