MSP – Move that board set dates for
election of new officers (at this point, no firm dates were
given).
Phil Rotherham – Discussion on MYSA decision regarding Ric Plante and his state coaching job vs coaching for FC Bozeman. There was a verbal agreement with John Hollow that would allow Rick to be the State Coach as well as coach for FC Bozeman. Phil has tried numerous times to have a copy of this in writing. No written agreement has come from the state as yet.
Ric Plante – The girls’ side has no coaches in place for teams yet. Rick needs to have John Hollow’s permission to coach in writing before he can coach a team. Ric, however, assured the board that he could, and would remain the girls’ Head of Coaches.
U11 and U 12 Tryouts - It may be misleading to call player evaluations for U11 and U12 age groups “tryouts”, as all players will be placed on a team (if there are adequate numbers for those teams). We need to emphasize that the players will be kept on a team, if at all possible. Bill suggested that we let team managers know that there will probably not be tryouts this fall, and that there will be practices for all players over the winter. Ric will draft a statement to that effect, and Jen will notify managers of previous teams. As for new teams, Jen will try to find someone from these groups to notify the players.
MSP – Move that late fee be waived for
all U11 signups until October 15 deadline, to encourage more registrations.
Registrations - Player registrations are down this year, and we need to encourage more players to sign up. Jack suggested board members and heads of coaching attend Sunday games for AYSO and GVYSA to try to recruit more players. Ric will draft a letter to possibly hand out at these games to interested players.
