FC Bozeman Board Meeting –
July 11, 2001
Board Members Present: Tim Owen, Tom Simkins, Pam Ransom, Ray Dore
Also in Attendance: Pam smith, Bill Locke, Jeff Pierce, Brian Troth, Terri Dore, Jan Gummer
Not a quorum present to have an official meeting
Informal discussion – school board will be charging us to use fields, because even though we are a non-profit organization, we PAY our coaches.
8 shifts available – Must have parents there at all shifts. Pam Ransom will call teams that worked last year – teams interested 15G, 14G, 15B, 13G, 11G. This year Health Department is requiring that 100% of the workers go thru food safety course. Bill will get info on WEB about availability so no one can say they didn’t know.
Blown out mother board in sprinkler system. Another one will be shipped in. The rye grass is up! Need to get curb work done. Tim O. will get with nurserys to get “Tree Registry” going. Field maintenance is still something of a mystery – who does it? City won’t take over Broken Park until it is completed – but this was never in the minutes. parking lot not complete. It is city property. Parks Board 100% behind us – but they are not supposed to be taking care of it according to the city.
Sent coaching apps with letter to every coach and assistant coach from this year. Want all apps back – as big a pool as possible. Then the decision can be made about hiring. See how many in present pool, then can search. He hopes to know how many coaches we will need by September 19 and have all the coaches lined up by October. He would like to have a coaches meeting with the applicants prior to the September 19 meeting so the coaches will know which team they will have.
July 23-26 – Pam R. & Jack D. will put together.
Coaches D License Training – 2 weekends – Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and Dec. 7-9. Hopefully will have enough to have the training. Also hope to have a clinic before tryouts in the fall and one in the spring before season starts.
Coaches have a three year window with the tem – not a guarantee. If no one else applies, and the teams supports the coach, can stay longer. Craig Stewart – in his fifth or sixth season with his team now. Wants tryouts now so can take his team to a tournament in Las Vegas. Season over after State Cup, so they don’t have to try out. Would be like Steve Birrell taking his team to Schwann’s Cup. Craig says he has petition from parents to stay.
ISSUES –
1. Should Tim as President or Dave as coaching committee call parents directly. Have a tally form – 2 columns – Y or N – No names. Do you want Craig to remain as coach?
2. Take OLD team to Las Vegas and then follow rules for selecting a coach.

For those Micros who are going to be U11 - Send all the information to them the month before the meeting. We have to make registration less confusing for them. Pam Ransom will get in touch with Lisa for list of players.
